Confessions of a Shop-a-holic Part 1

Hi Everyone, I AM a Shop-a-holic. I say that loud and proud. With no fear of repercussions (except for the occasional "oops" in my checking account- which I try to avoid at every twist and turn of my existence).I Love to Shop. But here's the thing; "The New Normal" and "Post self Quarantine Behavior" has and is making it difficult for EVERYONE!

But Fear Not!

The Internet has your back. TV Networks have your back. Catalogs and Phone Apps have your back. You can shop from sun up to sun down (depending on the limits of your cash or credit) and you don't even have to emerge from your house or  engage with anyone. Or better yet, you can shop 'til you drop in your Pajamas and no one would know it.

Let Me Tell You About My TWO Best Favorites.

(And I say this with REVERENCE)

Let's Talk About QVC and ThredUP (in Part 2)

QVC

What Can I say. You can find QVC on TV on broadcast, cable and satellite (what ever is your TV of choice.). You can find them on line. It's So Simple. Just 3 letters and you're in.  My newest QVC craze started in 2018 on or about Jan. 2nd.  I had been down a computer since 5013. I had been doing the "right thing" and thinking of "home first" (and that's hard in a Me First Society!). Well of course the "New Year's Special" comes up and with 6 Easy Pays. (QVC can help you spend some money - all you have to be is eager and receptive). And Voila! I was "computing" again.  And about somewhere in the middle of 2019 - The "Shoe Bug" hit harder than the flu (or even #Covid-19). The first pair was a little easy, breezy number from Spanco. (onlyl $44 and some change w/tax and s/h on 5 easy pay!) and I was hooked faster than an Opioid Addiction. Next came an Earth Sandal called Pisa Galli. (Again on 5 easy pay). Then came The Kendra Krystal, Linden Lehigh, The Westfield Wendy and the Belle Brielle. (All on Easy Pay, All at a One Time Only Price, All with the Admonition of Get Them While You Can!) - I had to shut off the TV.  But I couldn't shut down the internet. So, Of course I visited the QVC Site, with Earth Sandals in the Search Box and I began to scroll and lurk and plan and sneak and embrace my inner furtiveness. And Then the season changed and I started "collecting" Earth Sandals on my favortie  "base" or should I say "bottoms" and in the Belle family I got the Bentley, the Becky, 2 more Brielles - (different colors of course) and I coveted the Bridget and the Blaine. (Oh and I got 2 more Westfield Wendy(s) - in different colors at the "as is" price.)

Oh and did I mention I have a weakness for "Gladiators"? (Sandals - that is). And then in Dec. the Belle Blaine popped up on the site. And the Bridget re-appeared... and of course I proceeded to copy down the item numbers (furtively of course - in a secret "wish list" notebook. Who am I kidding. On the beginning pages of my yearly day/date planner I place every Earth Sandal I could possibly want. And then I wanted More. It became Never Ending. I started "trolling around" and coveting Pisa bottomed sandals until I bought them (on easy pay - It becomes so easy to buy, buy and buy some more when you have easy pay). So now, I am the Proud Owner of Pisa Truro, Chatham, Falmouth, Wellfleet (and I am coveting the Harwich) and I am coveting the Kendra Khloe and Kennedy and Karla. (Damn, the sandals have my name, How can I not buy them?)  I'll either have those shoes that I covet by the end of the summer (on easy pay) or I'll forget about them.  and move onto something else. BTW - I did purchase 2 pairs of sneakers by Ryka (a woman owned company that makes shoes especially for the shape of women's feet). Any excuse to buy shoes and I'm in. (Maybe only for the summer. In the Winter, I am more conservative.) Too bad, the nail salons are closed due to social distancing, #Covid-19 and the #Pandemic. I sure could use a pedicure with one of the many Revlon Reds that I have. (notice a pattern here?)

Shop-a-holic. Shoe-a-holic. Sneaker wearer. Sandal Sporter. Bare Foot. Flat Foot. Slippers, Slides, Thongs or Dr. Scholl's (or what I used to call Kung Fu Shoe - I could kick them off and hit my target - usually my son's head, from a distance of up to 8 feet. IF you knew what a knuckle-head he was when he was growing up, you would say I was verily justified. Not abusive). I love to shop and usually for shoes. And BTW... I have my eye on a pair of Sunjuns from the Bass Weejum website. Brings me back to the 70's and 80's. Wow.  I am not the girl who will wear 4-6 inch Blaniks or Louboutin's. Can't Afford it and I don't want to. I still Love to Shop for Shoes in my price range and comfort needs.  And Yes... I am a Card Carrying, Sneaky, Furtive Shop-a-holic. And NO... I don't want to stop... But I will Slow Down. EVENTUALLY
